Why Do We Do Your Regular Schedules - 1368 Words

Todd Donerson 5/9/2015 Intr. Philosophy Main project part 2 Behaviorism Why do we do the things we do in our regular schedules? Do we do it on impulse, is it something we daily choose to do, or are we simply conditioned to a point where it becomes natural? These are the questions behaviorists think about when studying other people. I believe this is the right theory because I believe that everything a person does, why they think they way they do, why they do the things they do is because that’s how they were taught or trained to think or act. As children, we’re more perceptive and receptive than most people think, we lead by example and we reflect what we see from those around us, like a sort of mirror memory. Behaviorism is a theory in psychology and philosophy that emphasizes the outward behavioral aspects of thought. The theory is that human as well as animal behavior can be explained in terms of conditioning without appeal to thoughts or feelings, and that psychological disorders are best treated by altering behavior patterns. Accord ing to the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, Behaviorism, the doctrine, is committed in its fullest and most complete sense of the truth of the following three sets of claims. 1. Psychology is the science of behavior. Psychology is not the science of the mind – as something other or different from behavior. 2.
